Over 25 Ivy Tech-Columbus spring semester classes offered in North Vernon; registration ongoing

Registration is continuing for Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus/Franklin spring semester 2011 classes, which begin on Monday, January 10, 2011. Classes are offered in all six counties of the Ivy Tech-Columbus/Franklin region: Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, and southern Johnson.

Demetria Price named Outstanding Graduate at Ivy Tech-Columbus

North Vernon resident Demetria Price has been named the Outstanding Graduate of the criminal justice program for the 2009-2010 academic year at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus.

Each year one Outstanding Graduate is selected in each academic program at the campus. The award is based on academic performance and overall exemplary achievement.

The award was presented to Price at the Annual Awards & Recognition Reception on April 30 at the Holiday Inn in Columbus.

62 Jennings County residents named to Ivy Tech-Columbus Dean’s List for fall semester

Sixty-two residents of Jennings County were named to the Dean’s List for this past fall semester at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. The college names to the Dean’s List any degree-seeking student who has accumulated 12 or more earned credit hours, is enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during the term involved, and earns a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Three North Vernon residents are summer Ivy Tech-Columbus graduates

Three North Vernon residents became graduates of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus following the summer 2009 term.

Amie Brunner received an associate of science in nursing (cum laude), Kimberly Golden received a technical certificate in medical assisting, and Leslie Patterson received a technical certificate in practical nursing.

The term cum laude indicates a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.74.

13 Jennings County residents named to Ivy Tech-Columbus Dean’s List for summer session

Ivy Tech-Columbus awards 447 degrees

Ivy Tech Community College will hold its 39th Commencement at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 9, at Franklin Community High School. This will be the first year that the event will be held in Franklin; the College has outgrown both Columbus East and Columbus North High Schools. Ivy Tech officials are excited to hold the event in Franklin, especially because Ivy Tech now has a campus in Franklin.
