Another transfer agreement reached between Ivy Tech-Columbus and IUPUC
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
Officials of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus and IUPUC have signed an articulation agreement that will ease the transfer of credits earned for the Associate of Science in social and behavioral sciences – psychology to the Indiana University Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in psychology degree program at IUPUC. Provided that students have earned the minimum grades stipulated for acceptance into the IUPUC program, Ivy Tech students may enter the IUPUC B.S./B.A. in psychology program as juniors, fully transferring credits they earned during the first two years at Ivy Tech.
This agreement brings to eight the number of associate degree programs that will transfer fully into the third year of the equivalent bachelor’s degree program at IUPUC. The other seven articulation agreements have been reached in the fields of accounting, business administration, general studies, computer information systems, early childhood education, nursing, elementary education, and agriculture.
“The increasing number of articulations with IUPUC is representative of the value and quality of an Ivy Tech degree,” said Ivy Tech Chancellor John Hogan. “The state’s community college system is truly becoming the front door to higher education for many who are seeking an upgrade in skills, a degree to enter the workforce, or a transfer option toward a baccalaureate degree.”
Marwan Wafa, vice chancellor of IUPUC, commented, “We are pleased to continue to work together with the faculty of Ivy Tech to make transferring their degrees into the four-year degree programs of IUPUC as easy as possible. It will only benefit the students.”
