Ivy Tech’s Rachel Vallejo-Bohnert invited to seminar at United States Naval Academy

Rachel Vallejo-Bohnert, Assistant Director of Admissions and Latino Outreach Coordinator at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, has been selected as one of 80 prominent educators and community leaders from around the nation to participate in an in-depth seminar at the United States Naval Academy, scheduled for August 3-6 of this year. The seminar will showcase the undergraduate opportunities offered at the Naval Academy for young men and women, particularly those from minority communities. The two-day visit to the Naval Academy is offered with all expenses paid.
Ivy Tech-Columbus medical assisting students to offer free health screenings

Nine medical assisting students of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus will assist in a health fair at Wal-Mart in Greensburg from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 27. The students will perform blood glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, and body mass index readings.

Ivy Tech-Columbus awards 447 degrees

Ivy Tech Community College will hold its 39th Commencement at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 9, at Franklin Community High School. This will be the first year that the event will be held in Franklin; the College has outgrown both Columbus East and Columbus North High Schools. Ivy Tech officials are excited to hold the event in Franklin, especially because Ivy Tech now has a campus in Franklin. (more…)

Ivy Tech-Columbus offers leadership series in Greensburg

The Workforce and Economic Development department of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus is offering the Achieve Global Leadership Series at the Greensburg Learning Center on the first Tuesday morning of each month, from May through January of 2010. Classes will begin at 8:00 am and end at noon. The cost is $39 per module; all nine modules are offered at the reduced rate of $297, if the registration is made prior to May 1. (more…)
