Friday, February 25th, 2011

Jeff Green, Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus adjunct instructor in communications and computer information systems technology and Jennings County Schools faculty member in television production, is the only educator in Indiana and one of only 44 educational professionals in the world to win the 2010 Making IT (Integrated Technology) Happen award.

Making IT Happen is an internationally recognized awards program for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K-12 schools. The program, introduced in 1995, identifies and rewards educational technology leaders from around the world for their commitment and innovation.

Recipients of the award are selected for their ability, among other criteria, to apply available technology, to see students as people, to teach through relationships, and to motivate through awareness and access to information. They are lauded for being inspiring, encouraging, and nurturing educators.

Crediting Jennings County high school, middle school, and North Vernon Elementary media students for their hard work, Green commented, “Although our school channel will never be confused for NBC, it reaches 38,000 homes on two cable companies and shows that JCS can make do with what we have.”
