Shana Wiley, a resident of Waldron, has been named the recipient of the Hari Mirchandani Community Service Award. This award is given annually to an Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus student in recognition of his or her love of community and selflessness in service to others. It is named after Hari Mirchandani, the first full-time faculty member to be employed by Ivy Tech-Columbus, who was greatly respected and appreciated by his students because of his concern for and willingness to help them achieve. Princeton resident Shelly Tucker has been named the Outstanding Graduate of the computer information technology program for the 2009-2010 academic year at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus.

Each year one Outstanding Graduate is selected in each academic program at the campus. The award is based on academic performance and overall exemplary achievement.

The award was presented to Tucker at the Annual Awards & Recognition Reception on April 30 at the Holiday Inn in Columbus.

Seven Columbus residents were named Outstanding Graduates in their programs for the 2009-2010 academic year at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. Jessica Cravens was named Outstanding Graduate in general studies; Mark Newton, in computer information systems; Lucinda Weisner, in practical nursing; Geena Fields, in accounting; Renea Summers, in liberal arts; Kaylyn Shinolt, in interior design; and Anna Montgomery, in visual communications.
