Dr. Anthony Gaudin receives the President’s Award at Ivy Tech-Columbus

Anthony Gaudin, Ph.D., Professor of Biology at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, has been honored as the recipient of this years’ President’s Award. The President’s Award for Excellence in Instruction is presented annually to a faculty member from each of the 14 regions of the college to recognize faculty who typify excellence in instruction and in representing the mission of Ivy Tech Community College.

Faculty are selected for this award based on their competence in subject matter; innovation, motivation, and enthusiasm; ability to develop and retain good personal relationships; low attrition rates of students; excellence in counseling and advising; and representing the college in community and civic activities and organizations.

Dr. Gaudin has been a faculty member at Ivy Tech-Columbus since 1998 and has served in a number of capacities, including professor of biology, chair of the science program, and dean of academic affairs. He has received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Teaching Award from California State University, Northridge, for two consecutive years, the Faculty Teaching Award from Los Angeles Pierce College, and four from the National Science Foundation. He is a member of Phi Sigma, the national honorary biological science society, and Sigma Xi, the national science research society.

He has been published in refereed journal articles, encyclopedia articles, books, and textbooks. He has served on numerous campus and faculty committees; he has been active in civic affairs and is a member of many professional organizations.
