Information session on Ivy Tech-Columbus upcoming education classes scheduled at Franklin campus

An information session regarding education classes to be offered during the next year in Franklin will be held at the Franklin campus of Ivy Tech-Columbus on Tuesday, May 4, from 4:00 until 5:00 pm. Dr. Julie Bilz, Assistant Professor of Education, will provide information on registering, admissions, and classes leading to an elementary education degree.

EDUC 240, Introduction to Health and Physical Education for Elementary Teachers, will be offered during the summer session. This three-credit-hour course provides knowledge and skills for planning and implementing a health and physical education curriculum to promote physical fitness and healthy living for Pre-K through sixth grade children.

EDUC 101, Introduction to Teaching, will be offered during the fall semester. This three-credit-hour
course provides a general introduction to the field of teaching. Students will explore educational careers, teaching preparation, professional expectations, as well as current trends and issues in education.

EDUC 201, Using Computer in Education, will be offered during the spring semester. This three-credit-hour course provides an introduction to instructional computing and hands-on experience with educational software, utility packages, and commonly used microcomputer hardware.
