Career Expo offers opportunity to meet potential employers

Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus, IUPUC, and the Purdue University College of Technology will host a Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, in the Columbus Learning Center. Students, alumni, individuals interested in transitioning into a new career, and individuals looking for employment due to job loss are invited to attend. More than 40 employers plan to attend in order to meet and talk with potential future employees. (more…)

Ivy Tech – Columbus offers tuition-free course

Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus is offering a tuition-free course of up to three credits this coming fall semester for 2010 high school graduates and GED recipients who complete their studies in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, and the southern portion of Johnson Counties. Tuition will be free; students will be responsible for books, technology fees, and other applicable fees. Students may take any course offered by the Columbus region, and it must be taken during the fall 2010 semester.

Two Ivy Tech-Columbus nursing students selected as externs for Clarian Health system

Two Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus nursing students have been selected for the Student Nurse Extern Program of the Clarian Health system. The program is highly competitive, and the students were among hundreds who applied. Both will serve at Indiana University Hospital. Rebecca Dobbins will serve as an extern in the medical progressive care unit, assisting patients who are in intensive and critical care. Bethany Combs will serve as an extern in medical nursing, assisting patients whose situations are less critical in nature. (more…)

Ivy Tech – Columbus receives simulation equipment through EcO15 funding

As a result of funding provided by Economic Opportunities through Education by 2015 (EcO15), Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus has received highly specialized equipment to be used in newly renovated healthcare clinical simulation labs at the campus to assist in teaching various aspects of the nursing profession to students. The equipment includes state-of-the-art technology and mannequins that can be programmed to present high fidelity simulations of a wide range of symptoms and conditions experienced by patients.

211 Johnson County residents named to Ivy Tech-Columbus Dean’s List for fall semester

A total of 211 residents of Johnson County were named to the Dean’s List for this past fall semester at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. The college names to the Dean’s List any degree-seeking student who has accumulated 12 or more earned credit hours, is enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during the term involved, and earns a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The college names to the Dean’s List any degree-seeking student who has accumulated 12 or more earned credit hours, is enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during the term involved, and earns a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
