Ivy Tech-Columbus to provide stress management for WorkOne employees

During several training sessions provided for approximately 120 employees of WorkOne by the Workforce and Economic Development (WED) department of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, the employees indicated a need to learn how to manage stress levels. The WED office responded and is providing stress management seminars to interested employees of WorkOne in six different cities beginning January 27, according to Teresa Begley, Director of the Ivy Tech-Columbus Workforce and Economic Development department. Three one-hour sessions will be offered in each city, and employees may attend any one of the sessions on a voluntary basis. Topics to be covered during the seminars will include recognizing stress, characteristics of different stress levels, and ways of coping with stress.

Bart Brown, Regional Operator of WorkOne Southeast, commented, “Many of our employees have indicated an interest in learning more about stress management; we’re happy to be able to respond to employee needs in this way, with the help of Ivy Tech.”

Seminars will be given in Lawrenceburg on January 27, Madison on January 28, Seymour on February 3, Columbus and North Vernon on February 4, and Greensburg on February 10.
