Placement testing day scheduled for Ivy Tech-Columbus ESL Bridge program

A testing day for the English as a Second Language (ESL) Bridge program at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus has been set for Thursday, December 17, 2009.  The program assists individuals who wish to improve their English language proficiency.   Instructional components of the program include English reading, writing, and listening/speaking at beginning, intermediate, pre-academic, and academic levels.  Offered free of charge, the test assists in placing students into the appropriate level of learning the English language.

The test can take from one and a half hours to three hours, depending upon the language capability of the test-taker.  Advising follows the test and takes approximately 30 minutes.  Both the testing and the advising appointments must be scheduled by contacting Debbie East, ESL Program Coordinator, at 812-374-5330 or deast8@ivytech.edu.
