Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus is helping officials at Schneck Medical Center streamline their processes through Lean Six Sigma training, according to Terrill Paradise, Senior Corporate Trainer in the Workforce and Economic Development department at Ivy Tech. Classes began at Schneck Medical Center on July 29 and will run through October 16.
Lean Six Sigma is a management methodology based upon improving processes that will produce measurable business results. Specific tools are systematically applied to identify, quantify, and reduce or eliminate sources of waste. Often the key support person in the Six Sigma training is a Master Black Belt who has had extensive project management experience. Paradise is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Those attending the class to obtain their certification include: Vicki Johnson, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Vice President of Nursing Services and CNO; Suki Wright, MSM, Director of Quality Services; Amy Pettit, RN, BSN, NE-BC, Director of Inpatient Surgical Services; Luke Acton, RN, BSN, Manager of Surgical Services; Makenzie Smith, Financial Analyst; Susan Zabor, RN, BSN, Quality Outcomes Specialist; and Julie Idlewine, Marketing Specialist.
