High school students from six counties saved $1,286,960 in college tuition last year by participating in the Dual Credit program offered by Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, according to Tom Judd, Ivy Tech Director of High School Initiatives. Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus has received approval from the Commission for Higher Education to offer the Hospitality Administration degree program. The Associate of Applied Science degree, the Associate of Science degree, and the Technical Certificate will be offered in two concentrations: Baking and Pastry Arts, and Culinary Arts. (more…)
Ivy Tech-Columbus holds information session at Franklin campus on education programs

Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus will hold an information session from 7:00 until 8:30 pm on Thursday, July 16, at the Franklin campus on McClain Drive. The focus of the session will be the elementary and early childhood education programs.
Brenda Ragle, Ed.D., Education Department Chair at Ivy Tech, will discuss the associate of science in education degree, transfer opportunities, the process of becoming a licensed teacher in Indiana, the Child Development Associate Credential, Teacher Education and Compensation Helps scholarships, the associate of applied science in early childhood education, and opportunities for individuals who have earned the associate of science in early childhood education.
Additional officials will be on hand to answer questions about admission and financial aid.

Free placement testing scheduled for Ivy Tech-Columbus ESL Bridge Program

Free placement testing dates have been established for individuals who wish to improve their English language proficiency by enrolling in the new English as a Second Language Bridge Program at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. The tests assist in placing students into the appropriate level of learning the English language.
Wendy Cain promoted to Program Chair at Ivy Tech-Columbus

Wendy Cain has been promoted to program chair of the science department at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. In this position, she will be responsible for supervising departmental full-time and adjunct faculty, support staff, and students; managing program enrollment, administration, and human resources for the department; and coordinating with academic and non-academic departments. She will officially begin her duties in August.
