
Susan Sheets, RN, MSN, CST, CNOR, chair of the surgical technology program at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, has received the Didactic Educator of the Year award, presented by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST). AST is a widely recognized, national, professional organization for surgical technologists and surgical assistants whose primary purpose is to ensure that these medical professionals have the knowledge and skills to administer patient care of the highest quality.
Sheets was presented with the award as a result of her dedication to the field of surgical technology, providing a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, using creative teaching techniques, presenting at a number of national and local conferences, and participating in advisory councils and curriculum committees.
