Nine medical assisting students of Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus will assist in a health fair at Wal-Mart in Greensburg from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 27. The students will perform blood glucose screenings, blood pressure screenings, and body mass index readings.
This service is a part of the service learning component for the administrative, clinical, and phlebotomy externship classes in which the students are involved. Five of the students are working toward their technical certificate in medical assisting; four will receive an associate of applied science in medical assisting.
