Chrystal Street named Outstanding Adjunct Faculty at Ivy Tech-Columbus

Chrystal Street, a resident of Crothersville and adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus, was named Outstanding Adjunct Faculty at the Annual Awards Recognition Reception on April 30.  Street serves as adjunct faculty in education.

One adjunct faculty member was selected as the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty member in each program offered at Ivy Tech.  Faculty were selected as a result of the quality of their teaching, their ability to connect with students, the positive impact they have on their students, and their dedication to the profession of teaching.

Street was selected also on the basis of her enthusiasm for teaching, her contributions to the first graduating class in elementary education, and for being an exemplary role model for students entering the field. 

She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Indiana University.  She is employed full time by the Crothersville School System as the curriculum director.  She has taught elementary and middle school classes, graduated from the administrators program at IU Southeast, completed additional course work to be licensed to teach algebra, is the Crothersville Junior High National Honors Society sponsor, the 2014 Class sponsor, and has been a cheerleading and volleyball coach.  She won the Indiana State Outstanding and Inspiring Teacher Award.  She is also a member of Phi Beta Psi sorority and a Brownie Troop leader.
