Nine Bartholomew County residents have been selected as Outstanding Graduates in their programs by Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. The Outstanding Graduate award is based on exemplary academic achievement, demonstrating creativity, mentoring other students, overcoming significant challenges, being a good ambassador for Ivy Tech, and community involvement. The selection process is highly competitive, and only one graduate from each academic program is selected. The Outstanding Graduates will wear honor cords during graduation, scheduled for May 9, and will lead the other students in their programs in the procession onto the stage during the ceremony.
Graduates and their programs are Jesus Basurto, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, graduating cum laude; Michelle Brantley, Business Administration; Mark Bush, Design Technology, graduating cum laude; Jacqueline Ewing, Office Administration, graduating cum laude; Constance Fields, Practical Nursing, graduating cum laude; Heather Padgett, Visual Communications, graduating magna cum laude; Kelly Richards, Human Services, graduating cum laude; Molly Smith, General Studies, graduating magna cum laude; and Pamela Weld, Surgical Technology, graduating magna cum laude.
