Michelle Owens, a resident of Brownstown, and Karen Sinyard, a resident of Seymour, have been selected as Outstanding Graduates in their academic programs by Ivy Tech Community College-Columbus. The Outstanding Graduate award is based on exemplary academic achievement, demonstrating creativity, mentoring other students, overcoming significant challenges, being a good ambassador for Ivy Tech, and community involvement. The selection process is highly competitive, and only one graduate from each academic program is selected. The Outstanding Graduates will wear honor cords during graduation, scheduled for May 9, and will lead the other students in their programs in the procession onto the stage during the ceremony.
Owens is graduating with an Associate of Science in Library Technician Assistant and is graduating summa cum laude. Sinyard will receive an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems and is graduating magna cum laude.
