Matthew John, chair of the agriculture program at Ivy Tech Community College, will be a presenter at the Delaware State University conference, titled “Profiting from a Few Acres: A Risk Management Conference,” on February 21 in Dover, Delaware. John, a frequent presenter and writer on various topics of small farm profitability, will speak on “Taking Poultry from a Hobby to a Profitable Small Business” at the conference.
John will also teach an Ivy Tech continuing education course titled “Homesteading 101: Living and Farming on a Few Acres.” The class will focus on how to profit from a small farm enterprise. The course will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 pm, beginning February 18 and ending March 11.
