Roger Bingham, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at Ivy Tech Community College, has been selected for the Administrator Award of Distinction by the Phi Theta Kappa organization. Nominated by the Alpha Tau Rho chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on the Columbus campus, he will receive this award at Phi Theta Kappa’s International Convention, to be held in Grapevine, Texas, on April 17.
Phi Theta Kappa is the only nationally acclaimed honor society serving two-year colleges offering associate degree programs. College administrators across the country were nominated by the Phi Theta Kappa chapters of their colleges for the outstanding support they have provided to Phi Theta Kappa over the years.
Bingham was nominated for the many ways in which he offers strong support to the Alpha Tau Rho chapter on Ivy Tech’s Columbus campus. He was noted for his encouraging, positive, and supportive attitude toward both the organization and the students. He was lauded for his open door policy, his listening ear, his interest in getting to know the students, and his willingness to give them personal, one-on-one time. He assists in the recruitment of new Phi Theta Kappa members and helps with student issues and event planning of the organization. Nominators indicated that “he helps empower students to reach above and beyond their goals.”
